Urban Processes
New York City is vulnerable against water surges through inland and coastal directions. Climate change threatens the city with sea level rise and frequent storms overwhelming the city’s storm/wastewater infrastructure.

Waterfront properties along the stretch of the most threatened real estate in NYC is proposed to integrate resilient strategies and high-performing buffer zones; focusing on Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

Buffer zones combine flood protection and storm water management; protecting its coastal edge from escalating climate related water threats, and activate these zones with ecological programs.
